Springdale Gardens
Springdale Gardens is one of Lindsay, Ontario's most desirable communities, located in the north ward, with ravine lots backing onto serene Jennings Creek and homes surrounding Springdale Gardens Park. This neighbourhood was first conceptualized in 1960 and is still in development today. Multiple builders including R. Moore Homes, Squires Built Homes Inc., Tom Grimes Homes have constructed a wide variety of both two-story and bungalow plans.
The Springdale Gardens neighbourhood is located in north of downtown Lindsay. It is a highly desirable neighbourhood with beautiful ravine lots along Jennings Creek, and homes surrounding Springdale Gardens Park. The neighbourhood is bordered by the Victoria Rail Trail to the east, Thunderbridge Rd. to the north, Angeline St. N to the west and Jennings Creek to the south. Springdale Gardens Park, Elgin Park and Ken Reid Conservation Area are all notable landmarks in this desirable Lindsay neighbourhood. The Victoria Rail Trail stretches from Lindsay to Kinmount, Ontario. It can be accessed at the eastern boundary of the neighbourhood from the extension of William St. N. The trail is 55 km long and is used year-round for hiking, horseback riding, cycling, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing and snowmobiling. The trail follows the former CN rail line which was constructed beginning in 1874.
Fun Fact: The concrete pillars east of Springdale Gardens in Lindsay, which were built by Italian labourers over the spring and summer of 1911, once supported a 4,000-foot-long (1,220 m) railway trestle bridge.!
